Executive Director/Advanced Practice Provider
Lara is a full-time Nurse Practitioner for the Student Health Center at Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½
University. Born and raised in Iowa, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing
from the University of Iowa in 1998. She moved to Colorado after college, and started
her first nursing position in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit/Oncology ICU at the
University of Colorado. She then transitioned to working in the outpatient oncology
setting while obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing. She graduated from Regis
University in Denver, CO in 2005 as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is board certified
by AANP. She continued to work in oncology as a Nurse Practitioner for several years
before transitioning to Family and Internal Medicine, where she practiced for the
past 11 years. She believes in forming a partnership with her patients, allowing them
to take an active role in setting their health goals. She believes that the best outcomes
are achieved when evidence-based practice guidelines are followed, and when treatment
plans are tailored to each patient’s unique life situation and care preferences. Working
in a college health clinic has been a longtime goal of hers, and she is thrilled to
be a part of Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½â€™s Student Health Center.
Advanced Practice Providers
Dr. Buschini is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Keigwin School of
Nursing at Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½ and teaches in the family nurse practitioner program.
She graduated from the University of Florida in 2002 with a Master of Science in Nursing
and has practiced since then as an adult nurse practitioner specializing in internal
medicine and nephrology. She is board certified by the ANCC as an adult nurse practitioner.
Dr. Buschini completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of
Florida in 2016 with a focus in Adult/Gerontological Primary Care.
Dr. Buschini’s areas of clinical and research interests included chronic kidney disease (CKD), renal-related diseases such as anemia and bone mineral disease, hypertension, dialysis & renal transplant. As a provider in the student health center, Dr. Buschini enjoys working with JU students to assist them through health issues as well as help them engage in healthy lifestyle habits to avoid future health problems.
Robin Ohar, MSN, PMHNP, is a part-time psychiatric nurse practitioner at the Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½ University Student Health Center. She is a graduate of JU’s psychiatric nurse practitioner program and has over 35 years of experience in psychiatric nursing dedicating her career to providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health care. She specializes in treating children and young adults, focusing on evidence-based practices and holistic care to support both mental and physical well-being.
Robin’s expertise includes diagnosing and treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and PTSD. Her patient-centered approach emphasizes education and counseling, empowering individuals to take an active role in their mental health journey.
Outside of her professional work, Robin enjoys target shooting, gardening, and volunteering at the local ASPCA on weekends. This balance of professional excellence and personal fulfillment keeps her grounded and connected to the community she serves.
Robin is committed to making a positive impact on her patients’ lives and looks forward to supporting students in achieving their mental health goals.
Dr. Andrea Patterson was born in Jamaica, West Indies, and raised in New York. She
brings over 23 years of nursing experience, including 12 years as a Nurse Practitioner.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½ and her
Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Florida. While working full-time
as a Nurse Practitioner, she went on to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
at the University of North Florida.
Dr. Patterson has dedicated much of her career to Family Medicine, where she is known
for her compassionate, patient-centered approach. She emphasizes holistic care and
strives to help patients achieve balance for optimal health and well-being. She is
board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is an
active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association
of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners (FLANP).
A retired United States Navy veteran, Dr. Patterson proudly served 20 years with distinction. Outside of her role at the Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½ Student Health Center, she enjoys working out, traveling, spending time with family and friends, relaxing with her 17-year-old Yorkie, and watching a good movie.

Carol is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Keigwin School of Nursing at Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½ University and teaches OB/Women's health to both the Undergraduate and Graduate student nurses. She was first educated in nursing and midwifery in South Africa graduating in 1998 before immigrating to the USA. She completed her Master of Science Degree in Nurse Midwifery in 2007 through the Midwifery Institute at Philadelphia University. She has been practicing full scope Midwifery care which includes Obstetrics and Women's Health since 2008.
Carol is passionate about empowering women by centering them in the medical decision making model and supporting them as they make their own health care decisions. She provides a wide range of women's health services, including IUD insertion/removal, as well as Nexplanon insertion/removal. Her clinical areas of interest include complimentary alternative treatment options and functional medicine to support women through a variety of gynecological issues.
Support Staff
Registered Nurse
Dawn is a registered nurse at the Student Health Center. She graduated from Bloomsburg
University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has cared for
patients of all ages for over 25 years. Her nursing experience includes surgical intermediate
care, Maternal-Child Public Health, and emergency Medicine. Prior to moving to Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½,
she worked at Ascension in the specialty of Urgent Care for 5 years in upstate NY.
She is excited to be in sunny Florida and really enjoys working with the students
at Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½.
Front Office Coordinator
Stephanie is the Front Office Coordinator for the Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½ Student
Health Center and is the first point of contact for scheduling appointments, questions,
and assisting students with needs. She has several years of experience in customer
service and has worked for a variety of corporations within the city of Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½.
In 2018, Stephanie graduated from FSCJ- Dental Assisting Program and pursued a career
in Oral Surgery. She assisted for a year, but always missed her true passion as a
Front Office Coordinator. She transferred back to that position knowing her dental
assistant training helped jumpstart her career in healthcare. This is Stephanie’s
first year working in higher education and she has loved every minute of it. Her goal
is for students to call the Student Health Center and feel welcomed and heard regarding
their concerns; she genuinely wants to help. Stephanie is excited to continue her
work at Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½ and looks forward to supporting students as they seek
healthcare at the Student Health Center.
Clinical Operations Manager
Tarryn is a full-time Registered Nurse and Clinical Operations Manager at the Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½
University Student Health Center. She oversees the immunization program, manages Infection
Prevention and Control protocols, and ensures staff compliance with ongoing training
requirements. Tarryn earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University
of Central Florida and has been practicing as a nurse since 2016. Her diverse experience
includes caring for post-operative neuro and orthopedic patients, working in outpatient
radiology, and administering infusion therapies for autoimmune disorders. One of the
most exciting roles of her career was in the Operating Room on the neurosurgery team
at Mayo Clinic. In this role she had the opportunity to make a few brief appearances
on Netflix's The Surgeon’s Cut. Tarryn is excited to contribute to the health and
well-being of Âé¶¹avÓ³»´«Ã½ students and is eager to make a positive impact
in her role at the Student Health Center.
